Privacy Policy — EatPlanet
Last updated: October 19, 2026
Planetdot Innovations Ltd ("Planetdot," "we," "us," or "our") operates the EatPlanet mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. By using EatPlanet, you agree to the practices described here.
If you have questions about this policy, contact us at [email protected].
1. Information You Provide, Stored Only On Your Device
When you set up EatPlanet, you're asked for details used to personalize your weekly meal plan: your age, sex, height/weight, activity level, diet type, weight goal, city, cuisine preferences, ingredients you'd like to avoid, and (optionally) a weekly meal budget, your name, and the names and daily calorie needs of family members you add.
Meal photos. If you use the optional Meal Photo feature, the photos you choose to save are stored only on your device and are never uploaded. Matching a photo to a recipe happens on your device. Deleting a saved meal, or deleting the App, deletes the photo.
EatPlanet has no user accounts and no backend server for your profile. All of this information is saved locally on your device only, using Apple's standard on-device storage. We do not receive, see, or store it on any server we operate, and it is not shared with us or with any third party. If you delete the App, this information is deleted with it. There is currently no cloud backup or sync of your profile across devices.
2. Information We Do Send Off Your Device
A few pieces of information leave your device as part of how the App works:
Your city (coarse location), for grocery pricing. To estimate what your groceries will cost, EatPlanet sends the city you provide to third-party pricing sources:
- Open Food Facts' Open Prices API, used worldwide as our general pricing source.
- The Kroger API, used for shoppers in the United States. Your city is converted to approximate coordinates on your device first, then those coordinates are sent to Kroger to look up real, current prices at a nearby (or, where Kroger has no local store, the nearest national) Kroger-family store.
Neither lookup is linked to your identity — it isn't paired with your name, age, or any other profile field — and neither is used for tracking.
A device identifier, for ad measurement and app analytics. EatPlanet uses two mechanisms to understand how people find and use the app:
- Apple's SKAdNetwork, which reports a privacy-preserving conversion signal (e.g., that a subscription occurred) back to the advertising platform (Meta, Google, or TikTok) that showed you an ad. This is Apple's own built-in attribution system.
- AppsFlyer, a third-party mobile measurement and analytics platform we use to understand install attribution and basic in-app milestones (such as completing onboarding, viewing the paywall, starting a free trial, or subscribing). AppsFlyer receives a device identifier and these milestone events, but not your name, age, diet information, meal photos, or any other profile field.
App Tracking Transparency. When you first open the App, iOS asks whether you allow EatPlanet to track you across other companies' apps and websites. If you allow it, AppsFlyer may use your device's advertising identifier to measure which ads led to installs and subscriptions. If you decline, the App does not access the advertising identifier. We do not use this information to personalize your meal plan, and your answer does not change what the App can do for you. You can change your choice anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
3. Subscriptions and Payment
EatPlanet is free to download; some features require a paid subscription (annual, and for new subscribers an introductory 3-day free trial; some earlier subscribers may be on a weekly plan), sold and processed entirely through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. We never see or store your payment details, card numbers, or Apple ID — all billing is handled directly by Apple under Apple's own Privacy Policy.
If you allow notifications, we may send reminders about your free trial. You can turn notifications off anytime in iOS Settings.
4. Data From Apple's App Store
Apple may share limited, aggregated information with us (such as anonymized subscription and usage analytics) through App Store Connect, in accordance with Apple's developer terms. We use this only to understand overall app performance, not to identify individual users.
5. Children's Privacy
EatPlanet is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your country). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at [email protected] and we will address it.
6. Your Choices and Rights
Because your profile data lives only on your device, you're always in control of it:
- Edit or delete anytime: every piece of profile information can be changed in the app's Settings/Profile screen at any time, and saved meal photos can be deleted in the Meal Photo tab.
- Delete everything: uninstalling the App removes all locally stored profile data and meal photos, since nothing is retained on our servers.
- Ad measurement and analytics: you can decline the tracking prompt, change your choice in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, or limit ad-related identifiers at the iOS system level via Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.
- Questions or requests (including under GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, or similar laws): email [email protected]. Because we hold no server-side personal data tied to you, most access/deletion requests are already satisfied by the on-device controls above, but we're happy to help.
7. Data Security
Since your personal profile data isn't transmitted to or stored on our servers, it isn't exposed to the security risks of a central database. Data sent to third parties (Section 2) travels over encrypted HTTPS connections.
8. Not Medical Advice
EatPlanet provides general wellness and meal-planning information for informational purposes only. It is not medical advice, and it is not a substitute for guidance from a qualified healthcare professional. Consult your doctor before making significant changes to your diet, especially if you have a medical condition.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the App evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
